The teacher as a moral bearing in the Islamic education system not only informs but also nurtures. To be successful at it, the teacher holds the Islamic view on knowledge and education central and works based on its moral implications. In this course, we shall reflect on the Islamic definition of knowledge and education and discuss the characteristics a teacher within the Islamic education system must hold dear to be a true ‘teacher’.
