ALI-182: Exploring the life of the The Holy Prophet (s)

We are excited to let you know that the following scholars will be talking about various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (s) on three weekends in March:
Weekend I
The Impact of Prophetic Teachings on the Cultural and Scientific Revolution of Arabia.
The course will assess various aspects of both pre-Islamic and post-Islamic Arabia to demonstrate the transformation in the cultural and academic atmosphere of Arabia and beyond. It will also search for the causes of the transformation in Divine revelation and the Prophetic sirah, which will unveil the greatest testimony to their miraculous nature.

Weekend II
The Messenger of God (s): The Meccan Chapter
The course will discuss the origins of the sira (Prophetic biography) and marked methodological differences and difficulties involved in providing a complete  Meccan sira as opposed to the Madinan sira. We will also discuss pertinent Qurànic passages which provide us with a sketch of the Prophet`s early life. The course will include a study of the marriage of the Prophet and why this was a turning point in his life, as well as the early burgeoning community of believers with the Prophet as their leader.

Weekend III
Common Hadith from the Holy Prophet (s)
Milaad an-Nabi (s) is one of the best occasions to unite Muslims from all walks of life. For all Muslims venerate Prophet Muhammad and believe him to be the most perfect human being to walk on this earth. To celebrate his birth anniversary, we plan to look at some of the Hadiths from the Holy Prophet (s) which are common to both the Sunnis and the Shiah and their impact on the lives of Muslims. The webinar will look at the canonical books of Hadiths – the Sihaah Sitta by Sunni scholars and Kutubul Arba` by Shi’ite scholars and explore a few Prophetic sayings that are common to the two sects of Muslims.
